Blush Makeup Tutorial
We know we all want to put our best foot forward. Especially at important moments like a job interview, a first date, a formal party, or any number of events. So makeup is an important part of our self presentation. In the Foundation Makeup Tutorial we have already discussed laying a clean canvass, as well as adding your eye makeup and lips. Now we will add the next part that will help to frame our face, applying blush.
When choosing a blush, you want to take great care. You can easily end up looking like a clown to you select too stark of colors from your natural color. You want your face to look fresh, not painted. Remember, as a general rule fair complexions look better with lighter shades like pink. Likewise, darker skin tones look better with deeper colors like a burgundy. It might be a good idea to go to a makeup counter at your local shopping mall, they can help you find a good color.
Keep in mind also that you may want to choose different colors depending on the occasion. If it is a daily office thing, you will want to choose a color that is a little lighter. However, if you are out on the town, you will want to select a color that gives a slightly more contrasting tone. And remember to match the undertones of your lipstick with your blush. You want a good balance that is not contradictory.
Your skin type will also play a factor in deciding on what product to use. Gels are good for oily skin and creams for dry. You might even want a mixture of a cream and a powder.
When applying this cosmetic, I would get rid of the cheap tiny brush that comes with the blush. Get a good brush, a professional one. Also don’t use the same brush for powder and cream if you are mixing. Apply the blush to the brush and tap out the excess to ensure it is even on the brush, therefore it will go on evenly. Smile in a mirror to find the apple of your cheeks and apply lightly here. We have mentioned many times, but less is more. Don’t over do it and make sure to blend the color in so it looks like you have a natural flush.
Following this simply yet important steps will have you well on your way to looking your best. You will have more confidence, for whatever task you have before you.
